How can you tell if you trend is going up or down?
I want to use the trend icon to show up,down neutral.
What output can i use to pass to the trend icon.
Is there an equation to use?

TomCat Errors caused by Dashboards(?)
SAP Enterprise BOE 4.1 SP5 Update 3 and Dashboards 4.1 SP5 update 3
We have some dashboards which are using the older queries built directly in QAAWS and newer ones which are using Web Services built via Webi.
Our TomCat error logs are filled with the below message (80mb in 12 hours). Is there a way of narrowing down what dashboard/report is causing this problem? I am assuming that this error is caused by a Dashboard query specifying incorrect credentials?

Error scheduling queries in BI launch pad
Hello,
I am receiving the error "Failed to connect to the OLAP source" when i schedule a query to run in BI launch pad. The query runs normally in BI launch pad if i don't schedule it. But the weird thing, is that i can run it if i do not have the Business Intelligence client installed on my PC. I am running BI 4.1. I have tried it with client 4.0 and 4.1 neither work. The same query which i scheduled a few months ago runs like Forrest Gump 
every morning without error. So this must be something that has just come about.
If I uninstall the client i can schedule the queries to run, but i can only uninstall it once.

Office/Excell 2013
I decided to install Office 2010 (32bit) on my new computer and works OK with Xcelsius. Now I want to install Office 2013/Excel (32 bit) on the same computer, as according to what I found out it seems both can work side by side on the same computer (except Outlook). My question is whether Xcelsius Engage 2008 would work under such environment and would not "get confused" or perhaps will not operate properly. Will it continue to get "latched" to Office/Excel 2010 disregarding Office/Excel 2013? What do you think?

Going Crazy here. Cross-domain policy Error #2170
Hi All,
I am going crazy here. When i try to view my dashboard, it throws the cross domain policy error. i have the crossdomain.xml on the server and everything. But my dashboard does not want to work. This dashboard was developed using Dashboards 4.1 SP2 using direct query browser NOT qaaws.
I have other dashboards that are built using qaaws and they work fine. But why this one throws the error, i can not understand.
Can someone please point me in the right direction here? I am going crazy here 
Edit: Just wanted to point out, we have a split deployment. SERVER01 is CMS only. SERVER02 is TOMCAT only.

Dynamic Date Change in Xcelsiu
Hi,
Is any possible ways todo change date dynamically.
Eg: I have data 201502,201503,201501,201504.
In preview mode (as like prompts), end user can select appropriate date like 201502 or 201503. So that data will display accordingly.
Is possible?

BIWS- Meaning of 'Share Report Content for All Consumers'
I am somewhat confused by the below checkbox, 'Share Content for All Consumers'. How does this impact my BIWS if I check or uncheck this option?
My initial assumption with older QAAWS is that the individual user rights would determine if a user could access data from a specific query of not? Am I wrong? As a default should it always be checked?

FILE EXISTS BUT IS INVALID
I have created 3 dashboards, all of which have worked without an error in the past. However, when I run one of the dashboards now the following error message is displayed when the data is retrieved (using QAAWS):
"The document cannot be created or opened. The error code is: FILE EXISTS BUT IS INVALID."
The dashboard is created and all the data appears to be retrieved, but I would like to stop the error message appearing. I have looked on the Web for answers and whilst I can find others asking the same question no answers are posted.
Can anybody help?

Is it possible to pass Query parameters between two XLF's
Hi,
I have a parent dashboard (.xlf) and i'm trying to launch another .xlf (child) from the main dashboard using OpenDocURL.
Is it possible to pass Query Parameters from parent to the child using OpenDocURL ?
If not , how we can do it ? . I don't want to use SWF loader to load the child dashboard.
I'm using SAP Dashboard 4.1 SP4.

Avoiding multiple queries for similar data
Hi Guys,
I am creating a dashboard in Dashboards 4.1 using BIWS. I am publishing the following cross tab as a query from my Web Intelligence Report.
Employee Type | Dept. Name | Jan | Feb | Mar |
Manager | A | $50 | $100 | $50 |
Manager | B | $120 | $50 | $70 |
Supervisor | A | $60 | $40 | $30 |
Supervisor | B | $70 | $70 | $80 |
Advisor | B | $40 | $50 | $60 |
The dimensions used in the cross tab are - Employee Type (variable), Dept. Name (variable)& Month (Merged dimension).
The measure used in the cross tab is - Commission Amount.
Now, in my dashboard, the first view is going to be a stacked column chart with Month on the X-Axis. The stacked chart is going to have Commission Amount by Dept Name.
In the second view, the X and Y Axis are going to be the same. But, the user gets to select the "Employee Type" from a radio button.
Based on the selection, the corresponding data needs to be shown in the stacked column chart.
Now, to achieve this, I am having to publish 2 queries (cross tabs).To get the first view, I am only using Dept. Name, Month & Commission Amount as my report columns. To get the second view, I am publishing the whole table shown above.
My question - Is there a way to create one query/table to get both views ? Your help is appreciated.

Transport Webi Reports and Web services as the backend of dashboards from BO Production to BO Development system
Hello Experts,
I am working on Business objects 4.1. I have made several dashboards on top of Web Services. On top of BI BEx Query I made webi reports and from the webi reports I made the Web Services on top of which i made the dashboards.
I have two systems in BO, Development and Production.I am getting data from BW production which is connected to both BO Production and BO Development systems.
I am making Webi Reports, Web Services and Dashboards everything in BO Production directly.
Now, my question is can I transport the webi reports and the web services from BO Production to BO Development?
If yes, will there be any other impact on web services or dashboards after transporting it to BO Development system?

Get latest webi report instance in Dashboard
Hi Guys,
I am using BIWS to publish report blocks from 2 web intelligence reports to feed data into my dashboard in Dashboards 4.1.
The webi reports are scheduled to run twice a week. I want my dashboard to use the scheduled Webi report instances every time the dashboard is loaded. I do not want all the queries to refresh every time the dashboard is loaded as I have about 30 queries in the dashboard which might slow down performance.
Now, I tried linking the "getFromLatestDocumentInstance" field from the Input values (data manager) to an underlying cell in the excel spreadsheet with "TRUE" as the value. However, when I preview the dashboard, no data is displayed. If I set the "Refresh" Input value to "TRUE", I am getting the data, but I do not want this.
Could anyone please help me resolve the issue and increase the dashboard performance ?

Design Dashboard question
hi everyone,
in my dashboard I have a Map with places on it.
I Want to do an arrow from some of the places in the map that goes to a table for that specific place.
I dont have a component that is an arrow I have just a simle straight line.
IS there an option do do an arrow without component ??
Or at least to do the line in an angle??

Configure Query Browser log in
In Dashboards 4.1, I am trying to use the Query Browser on a Universe file. When I build a small query and try to preview the data, I
get an error that says
Report processing failed. XLS 000009.
Microsoft SQL Server Native Client 11.0
Login failed for user DOMAINXX\xxx_serviceaccount.
I do not want to run queries from the Query Browser as this service account. I would like to change it to another service account to control how queries run from the Query Browser.
Where can I configure the Query Browser and how it runs against the database ? Is this a CMC setting ?

Dashboards In Xcelsius

Present I am working Dashboards through Xcelsius,In My Dashboard I added Circular Loader in GIF Format but when ever data refresh loader pop up's.But Here My Question is The Circular Loader not Rotating It act As static Image, in xcelsius image component supports jpeg and SWF Loader's
How Can I get those in .swf and JPEG Could you Please Help On This.

Alternative for Hierarchy Table in SAP BO Dashboards Mobile
For SAP BO Dashboard 4.0 for mobile,
I noticed that hierarchy table is labeled as unsupported component
If the hierarchy become the flat list, the list will be so difficult to be read.
Do you have alternative way in order to show hierarchy table in BO Dashboard Mobile?
