I have a dashboard in BI4 SP05 Patch6 that we are in final stages of desiging and now when we select Preview button in the designer, it stalls with status "Generating SWF"
This happens with a specific dashboard. It has a simple query on load to get user info and list of plants. All other querys on trigger, watch and do not execute on load. The worksheet is empty except for formulas.
Sometimes, the preview will come up after 3-5 minutes. I then save a snapshot to Excel to confirm that only the expected onload queries run as the data is mapped to worksheet. The data returned on load is less than 20 rows. The snapshot save takes another 5 minutes
The preview was working slowly, but seems to just gotten worse. We can still open the XLF in Designer and the mobile preview displays ok and we can run it from the BI Luanch pad, but without able to preview and view the snapshot data - it is impossible to develop. This takes forever!
I have searched on SCN and not found any real answers other than reduce components and reduce forumlas. This XLF is not that complex but will take much too long to re-do all the work since last saved version (loss of 2 days)
Is there anyway to check and repair the XLF for the dreaded "corruption"? Perhaps it is a bad formula, but is there a way to check? Not using Vlookup, but do have countif and sumif on 50 rows...Nothing very exotic here.
Really frustrated and appreciate if you can pass on how you get around these problems!
