Crystal reports shared variable in dashboard

Dear gurus

I'm trying to capture shared variable data contained in a sub-report in crystal reports in my dashboard and unfortunately it does not appear in the excel contained in the dashboard when i'm trying to extract the data through live office is there any work around that will allow me to use the data in the dashboard

any help will be appreciated
