I'm using Dashboards 4.0 SP05. I'm a newbie, i want to select multiple values from the List. Which Component can be used?
For Example: I want to show LOV's (List of values) for Year such as 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, etc. Now, i want to select multiple years to display in Column Chart. Let's say, 2011, 2013.
How do i achieve this using components?
Please note, i dont want to use Prompts.
This is to utilize dashboards more logically.

I have a side by side installation of BO XI 3.1 and SAP BO BI 4, I need to work in both servers, my problem is that I have a lot of Xcelsius files with Live Office Connections, and it's necessary edit them and then export the dashboards to the repository in BO XI 3.1
I've enabled the LO addin for BO 3, and disabled the LO addin for BO 4... then I launched Xcelsius 2008, opened the file, import the new Excel spreadsheet, and when I want to add the Live office connections from Data Manager, nothing happens!!!
What should I do???

Hi Experts,
My dashboard is based on couple of BW queries. I am refreshing a query by selecting a check box.
Is there any possibility to show the user like 'Executing', 'Loading' etc messages until the query refreshes from SAP BW.
Now I am not sure whether the query is running or not, or returned 0 rows.
please advise.

My Data source is bw,am using bics connection lot of data i need to fetch, i want to know how these can be reduced and what can be the feasible records in excel that can be used for calluclation purpose and mapping so it can be conveniently brought to visualization in dashboards.sometimes eeven i can,t run the Report as data is so huge..
Suggest me the feasible ideas.

Here is a quick trick on how to show alerts (up/down arrows) using character maps displayed using a label component in SAP Dashboards.
Every Font has a set of characters apart from the alphanumerics. And these set of characters vary from one font to another. These characters can be seen on character map in Windows.

Open Character Map in windows by typing 'charmap' in Run:

Scroll down the Character Map window to find some cool set of characters offered by the font. Some fonts like Arial, Times New Roman, etc. contain the arrows ▲▼ that we need. Select the character and copy it so that it can be pasted in the excel sheet of our Dashboards.

The coloring is achieved by binding the label text color to the excel cell where a simple formula determines whether the color must be RED or GREEN based on the data value.
PS: Not all the fonts' characters are supported in SAP Dashboards. For instance, I eagerly tried out the cool characters of Windings Script but ended up with disappointment.

Hello Everyone,
I am trying to connect to a BEx query from dashboard. Below is the work flow I followed.
query browser-->add query-->BEx Query-->build query-->preview results--> usage options.
I can preview the results based on the objects I have selected. but after clicking "ok" in the usage options window. Here comes the problem. Below is the window I see when I click "ok". I does not show any loading message or error message, does not load the data. I just stays like that.
Dashboard Version: 6.0.5.0
Build: 14.0.5.882
Please help me figure out a solution. Also I have a doubt on the version and build I am using, if it can support such kind of connectivity.

I have design one dashboard based on live office connection and its working fine but after some time i added one BO prompt and now i am not able to import webi in excel it gives the following error. I am little stuck pls help.

Hi,
I have 3 components, say pie charts one each for continent, country and state - first pie chart drills to the second pie chart and second one drills down to the third pie chart. If I select Europe in the first pie chart, the second component loads showing all the countries within Europe. And then say when I select UK in the second pie chart, the third component is loaded showing all the states within UK.
On the first load, everything works fine. Say when I want to go back and select another continent in the first component, say North America, I would expect it to load only the second component and display only the countries . But, it also loads and displays the third component.
I have set the default position for interactivity to be -1.
what is the logic that has to be used to load only the second component when a field in the first component is selected?

How can i get a unique list of values in a column with no repetition of a value more than once using excel formula in Xcesius. i have tried arrays and they dont work i have also tried a index/countif formula that works in regular excel but doesnt work when i try to preview my dashboard.
Kindly let me know of any tried and tested formula for this kin dof reauirement.

I tried out the XML-datasource in Xcelsius 2008 SP3, exported my dashboard as PDF and faced the error #2148, cannot access external data.
I already added the crossdomain.xml to my webservers ROOT-folder and added the folder of the dashboard and PDF file to my trusted folders in the advanced security settings of my PDF Reader.
Does anyone know how to fix this issue?
Hello every one, i have a issues, i enable the alert in a scorecard, when the values are fix in the sheet, its display the correct color acording to value and rules, but if i want these values load from a bex querie o flat file, e.g (XML), the alert not work properly sometimes its dasplay green color or yellow color, is not consistent. Anybody know if this is a issues, my BO is 4.0 SP2.
