I developed a dashboard using Xcelsius 2008 in SAP BO xi3.1. I used BI web service as connections to connect to enterprise data. I am able to view dashboard in xi 3.1 UAT as well as PROD environment.
Recently we upgraded to SAP BOBI 4.0 SP7. Our webi reports, universes (unv and unx) all are working fine. We migrated BI web services as well from xi3.1 to 4.0SP7 environment.
Using SAP Dashboard design, I published dashboard to platform as Dashboard design object for Desktop only. But dashboard throws error message as java.lang.null.pointer exception.
I tested web services using WebI Rich client, there also it throws same error. But the same web services in xi 3.1 are working perfectly fine.
In BO 4.0 SP7, we have Tomcat 7 as web application server which is not bundled with BO. We installed Tomcat 7 and then deployed .war files to it. Tomcat is installed with default port address as 80 instead of 8080.
So in 4.0 Dev environment again I published BI web services and remapped in xlf file and published to platform. Then dashboard starts functioning properly.
Now when I migrate dashboard to BO 4.0 SP7 Production environment, the web services again starts throwing java.lang.null.pointer exception error. In Production envt also we have Tomcat7 with 80 as default port address.I don't want to carry out the redeveloping activity again. Is there any way that will avoid redeveloping BI web services in each and every environments?
