I am being told by my support folks that BusinessObjects is not compatible with Internet Explorer 8, but that it will work in compatibility view. Our first option was to manage this site in a GPO maintained list of sites that require compatibility view, but we don't want to manage this list when the application and web developers can manage this change on their own.
After contacting Microsoft they suggested that they update the metadata of the web pages so that they display in compatibility view when viewed.
My support folks informed me that the BusinessObjects software installs in a way that this change is not possible.
Microsoft came back and said we could change the website header for the site so that it would display in compatibility view. In Tomcat this should be possible with a filter.
My support folks informed me that this change would put us out of compliance with SAP support guidelines.
What is SAPu2019s stance on this issue and what is your recommended work around?
