Hi,
has anyone experienced this error before with the Dashboard Design Tool?
I open up the application, then select to 'Add Query'.
I am then prompted to logon onto the SAP BusinessObjects system.
So I enter in all the details - System, Username, Password with Enterprise authentication.
After log on, the 'Add Query' window pops up with a message:
Failed to connect to the BI platform. If this error keeps occurring then refer to SAP Note 1668437 for troubleshooting.

So, i refer to the suggested SAP note. HOwever the steps in this note are only relevant for an environment that is using tomcat with windows.
The environment I have set up SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.0 SP04 in, is AIX/DB2 and NW Java AS 7.3.1.
I am not sure where to look to fix the equivalent of what you would fix if using tomcat as the web application server.
Can anyone help me out?
