Hello,
It has been a long time since I have been in the forum: I have now upgraded to Dashboard Designer 4.1 on Windows x64 and running SP7.
I am plotting a simple line chart of a time series with just under 1700 data points. The first observation is that Dashboard Designer is very slow. I did get a warning about the performance but is 1700 data points that much for the latest version? Can I tweak it somehow without fewer data points; the test export take ages to refresh when I change a variable.
More crucially, I cannot find a way to display dates (on the x-axis) in a meaningful way. Right now, by default, I get three lines of blobs: that is because DD tries to display every single date (they're daily observations). I simply cannot remember if I ever tackled this in the past and it is my first try since I upgraded so I apologise for the basic nature of the query. Would you please give me your suggestions as to how to handle displaying dates on the x-axis for a large data set. In excel 2016, I have a way of displaying years only on the X-axis, so I only get 5 entries. I could live with months although that may be a squeeze. Any tricks? And if I need to tweak the dates on the spreadsheet itself instead, would you please let me know how you would lay it out?
Thank you for your answers.
