Greetings everyone,
I am a novice user of Xcelsius and I'm still learning so please forgive me for the elementary nature of this question.
I have a list of groceries with four columns (Supermarket, Item, Classification, Total Purchased). I have pasted the data from the spreadsheet below.
On a column bar chart, I'm displaying the total amount of each classification of food purchased (vegetables, meat etc.) in Xcelsius based on this data. What I am trying to do is make the bars representing the classifications drill down and expose the more detailed data below the column chart in a grid.
The difficulty I am having is understanding how to achieve this, in particular when the data being reflected in the bar chart (the totals purchased) is not the same data as the more detailed list (which lists the supermarket name, the specific grocery purchased etc.). For example, if you click on the "Canned Food" bar, I would like the grid below the bar chart to show:
Supermarket | Item | Classification | Total Purchased |
---|---|---|---|
Pathmark | Garbanzos | Canned Food | 6 |
Shop Rite | Tuna | Canned Food | 5 |
Is this even possible? I suspect some rearrangement of my data may be necessary but I am unclear on how to approach this.
Any advice or assistance would be much appreciated. Thank you for your time in advance!
Ben
